Infant Car Seat Freak-Out

I was going to write here about the freaky-deaky report in Sunday's Trib about some infant seat crash tests that Graco, Evenflo, et al really don't want you to see. Instead I wrote about it where they pay me.
Sorry, folks. It's all about the benjamins. But I could totally use some readers and commenters over on the UpTake travel industry blog.
(But about that article? So many infant seats separated from their bases during crashes that it's making me rethink whether a snap-in infant seat is really necessary. It's really easier to pop an infant into a sling after you park anyway, and we've all been warned about letting them sleep for prolonged periods in the infant seat. Then again, the one we own, the Graco SnugRide, is the only one that DIDN'T separate from the base in any of the tests. And, also? Not too sure we can fit two big Britax car seats along with Nutmeg's booster in the back of the Subaru.)
