It is past 11 a.m. Where are my contractions??? Huh, Nutmeg?
I will admit that I feel different today -- lots of pressure, little pains that I optimistically associate with cervical opening. But pretty much no contractions.
Oh well. I've walked another 2 miles, had Mexican food for breakfast, and did that other thing that the midwife had to whisper about at our last appointment because Nutmeg was in the room. Time to make carrot muffins.

On your behalf, we were all hoping for Nutmeg to have psychic powers, but I guess that's not the way the cookie crumbled. Maybe she was just 12 hours off. :)
You know, Tanya knows an acupuncturist out in Oak Park that can do some work to help bring on labor. I had an appointment with her for the morning of July 21, 2005. I had to miss it, though, because I was in labor.
I made the appointment on the 20th, though---I mentioned that Tanya had referred me and I was trying to avoid induction, and they squeezed me right in.
Sending you all the good labor vibes I can!
Yeah, there is a new acupuncture place a couple blocks from me that is supposed to do this (right across from the yoga studio where I got the prenatal massage and next to the portrait studio that took those gorgeous Nutmeg pics). I am thinking about calling, not because I am so desperate but to see if I can avoid medical induction.
This must be agony.
When will I? When will I? Go into labor?
Enjoy the Nutmeg as an only child thing for another few hours...
Sending you labor non-induction vibes.

Delurking to say I had my baby on the 8th (my water broke at 11pm on the 7th!) and I have been anxiously awaiting the latest news from your house. Hope all is well in your little family! Thanks for sharing.
