A mere six hours after my water broke, Filbertine was out here in the world with us. Right now she's sleeping comfortably in a new sling that a cousin was kind enough to mail to us. I feel so lucky and awed by my whirlwind labor, which Epu described so briefly. I will, of course, be working on a more detailed and gory birth story to post here.
For now, know that Filbertine is healthy, weighs 7 pounds 14 ounces, is nursing, and has a shock of black hair that unfortunately these pictures don't show. More coming, I promise.
As you can see, the two sisters have met, and so far relations have been good. This evening my parents will bring Nutmeg back to our house for the beginning of The Real World: Sisterhood. I'm bracing myself. I'm also getting ready to make celebratory banana splits, as Nutmeg has been promised.
* And she's not nearly as yellow as this picture makes her look.

She's so beautiful. Congratulations!
I can't wait to see her tomorrow! We have a dish of frozen stuffed shells ready or your freezer, a homemade baby blanket washed and ready to go, and of course, our camera! Woo hoo!
She's so cute!
Oh...and I thought of something last night, out of the blue---here is LITERALLY a phrase that went through my head:
"I guess the Nutmeg news is becoming 'A Tale of Two Nuts'"
lol
Congrats! Glad everyone is doing well!!
she's beautiful.
and nutmeg's glowing, too.
look out boys--thank goodness that'll be a "few" years away!
I was a tad worried when I didn't see a post, but had a feeling things were finally in motion.
I hope everything went as you had planned or close to it.
She, and the Nut of course, are gorgeous. And not all kids are cute after birth. You are lucky!
Relax and have fun. Hugs
She's so lovely. But then, with the dark hair, she must take after you. :)
